Literature Text
Don’t be tempted by the hollow world,
Hidden far beneath our earthly sky,
Stretching its roots like fingers under the mud,
Searching for your precious pearl.
Birds may fly before you,
Their feathers prismatic,
Their eyes rotating round and around,
Making you twirl and lurch
You stagger and fall and they rise ecstatic.
Red, blue and yellow paint falls from hollow trees,
And the angels gaze down and spy,
Throwing nets like curtains spreading as a flood,
Hoping to save your dwindling sun.
Hidden far beneath our earthly sky,
Stretching its roots like fingers under the mud,
Searching for your precious pearl.
Birds may fly before you,
Their feathers prismatic,
Their eyes rotating round and around,
Making you twirl and lurch
You stagger and fall and they rise ecstatic.
Red, blue and yellow paint falls from hollow trees,
And the angels gaze down and spy,
Throwing nets like curtains spreading as a flood,
Hoping to save your dwindling sun.
Wrote this poem not too long ago. Flows quite differently from my others ones and wasn't sure whether to post it, but in the end thought I might as well share and see what you guys think!

Very interesting piece, although I am ashamed to say I'm struggling a bit with the interpretation...
"The hollow world" seems to refer to some negative personal experience of the speaker. I noticed that the paint dripping from the trees were primary colours, suggesting that something necessary had been drained from them leaving the "hollow". Also, the prismatic birds flying away suggest more colour leaving the world, with the speaker falling as they rise suggesting what's left is hopeless.
Or at least, so I surmise. I'm not sure whether any of this is accurate...=\
